The dream catcher is intended to protect the sleeping individual from bad dreams. It is said that positive dreams will slip through the hole in the centre of the dream catcher, and glide down the feathers to the sleeping person below. Whilst the bad dreams get caught up in the web, and disappear when the first rays of the sun strike them.
